Commemorate Iwo Jima: Special Screening of 'Flags of Our Fathers

Join us for a special screening of Flags of Our Fathers in the Museum's Medal of Honor Theater to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the iconic Iwo Jima flag raising on February 23, 1945. Directed by two-time Academy Award winner Clint Eastwood, this poignant film explores the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of the Marines who fought at Iwo Jima. The story reveals the humanity behind the legendary photograph that became a powerful symbol of hope and perseverance.


Synopsis:
For 70,000 Marines, Iwo Jima was more than a turning point in World War II—it was the defining moment of their lives. Flags of Our Fathers follows the life stories of the six men who raised the flag and examines the complexities of heroism, patriotism, and the brutal realities of war.
