Race, History, and Rock Creek: Carter Barron at 75, A Musical History

Race, History, and Rock Creek: Carter Barron at 75, A Musical History

May 07, 2025. From: 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM

Join Rock Creek Conservancy and Rock Creek Park as we host a virtual conversation at the intersection of race, history, and Rock Creek Park. The Carter Barron Amphitheater is known for the rich diversity of performances it has hosted, from Duke Ellington to the Ice Capades, Bruce Springsteen to salsa, and more. Join Mellon Fellow Dr. Rami Stucky and Folklore and Ethnomusicologist, Dr. Allie Martin, to learn about the relationships between the music played at the Carter Barron and larger cultural trends in our region. Made possible in part with support from Destination DC.
